Master Class Fall Semester 1

Storch-BadgeI’m so happy to see all of you in class today!! I trust you all had a good, if not busy, summer. I know these past couple of months have been whirlwinds heading for Oz for me! We did keep the Master Class going over the summer and every single piece that was linked up was fantastic. All you new students have your work cut out for you! If you need some examples, keep reading!

Our last assignment was chosen by Troy. He was instructed to choose the 5th book from his top shelf and give us the 5th true line on the 55th page. The book was A Christmas Story by Jean Shepard, and the line was “I sensed the stirrings, faint but unmistakable of an Afternoon Love.”

Shannon, AKA Stankmeaner, chimed in with a beautifully sweet tale of an encounter between a homeless man, an ugly dog, and the dog’s owner that will leave your heart feeling happy.

The professor (AKA me) turned in the 16th installment to her serial-in-progress, The Elven Games and introduced us to the arena for the games. You really should be reading this serial if you aren’t already.

Troy responded to his own prompt with a sinfully sweet story about rejection over appearances. He consistently moves to the head of the class with each new prompt!

Tara of Thin Spiral Notebook wowed us with a romantic tale of school love that makes you want to meet the characters in real life. Because her story was so awesome, she was asked (some time ago, honestly) to choose the assignment for the next class. I gave her no specific instructions, and she chose:

You have until Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 9 pm EST to link up.

You must use this prompt to begin your story, and there is no word count. Please give the original author credit for the line and add the Master Class badge to your post. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Ready? Set? Write! The link up is live and brand spanking new. (The old one wanted me to pay for it so I switched to a different one.)

  1. Well, I finally found (made, stole?) time to finish writing something. Now I have to find (create, steal?) some to read as I’ve 60 odd posts to catch up on. Thanks for the inspiration, and big ups for your upcoming publishing adventures 😉
